Pachmarhi – The Queen of Satpura

Pachmarhi is unknown, less talked about, low crowded, minimal commercial, very beautiful & only Hill Station of Madhya Pradesh in Satpura mountain ranges. Pachmarhi also known for the Pachmarhi Cantonment (Permanent Military Camp). It is widely known as The Queen of Satpura (Satpura ki Rani), situated at height of 1100 m in valley of the Satpura Mountain Range in Hoshangabad district of Central India. Pachmarhi was named on 5 Caves of Pandav (Pandav Gufa)

Pachmarhi offers a variety of attractions ranging from Waterfalls, Temples, Churches, Nature, Jungles, Wild Life, Ancient caves to beautiful monuments

Dhoopgard, the highest point of Madhya Pradesh from Sea level is one of the best Sun Set/Rise point to spend an evening/morning in Pachmarhi. Currently going to Dhoopgard in morning is not allowed because it may cause disturbance to Wild life living there

Best Time to Visit

Anytime, but better to visit between July & February

How to Reach

By Train: Pipariya is nearest Railway Station which is well connected with Bhopal Railway Station. By train Bhopal is 159 kms from Pipariya. After reaching Pipariya take MP State Highway no. 19. Buses, Private Taxies & Shared Taxies are easily available from Pipariya Railway Station

By Road: Piparia to Bhopal is 159 kms by Road via MP State Highway no. 19. Piparia to Pachmarhi is 52 kms & it will take around a hour to travel this beautiful Hilly Route to reach Pachmarhi from Pipariya

By Air: Bhopal is nearest Airport well Connected with Mumbai, New Delhi & Indore by Air. Take Train or Road route mentioned above to reach Pachmarhi after reaching Bhopal by air

Bee Fall, Silver Fall (Rajat Pratap), Fairy Pool (Apsara Kund), Duchess Fall are beautiful water attraction

Also few scenes of legendary Doordarshan’s serial Discovery of India (Bharat ek Khoj) were shot in Pachmarhi

Tourist visits Pachmarhi throughout the year. It has also a lot of cave paintings in the forest,some of which have been estimated to be as much as 10,000 years old

Only 4 X 4 Vehicles like Maruti Gypsy are allowed for Sightseeing. These 4 X 4 Vehicles are available from Private tour operators on daily or package basis

Pandavas of Mahabharat stayed in these caves during exile period and so they are called Pandav Caves (Pandav Gufa). Pachmarhi is named on these 5 caves

This is longest water fall of Pachmarhi, from far this waterfall looks like Silver (Rajat). To view this one need to walk a kilometre of Jungle full of Timber trees
